While
the Amazon Animal Orphanage is an official refuge center as designated
by the Peruvian government, there are no funding sources in the Amazon
for this project.
Each of the animals needs food and sometimes medicine or veterinary
care. The Orphanage has covered the cost of providing nourishment
and care until now, however, as the Orphanage grows, expenses will
need to be covered through the generosity of people like you. (Educators,
please note that "adopting" one of these animals would make
a wonderful class project. Our world is amazing, and animals such
as these are what help make it so wonderful.)
All donations will help save abandoned animals:
• $5
will care for one of the turtles for a month;
•  $90 covers
care for Rosita the Anteater. She eats ants (which she finds on
her own), has oatmilk when visitors want to see her and after nap-time,
and we pay a young boy to walk with her in the jungle to keep her
safe.
•  $30 covers
vitamins and some of the food for all of the birds (they also fly
out and fi;
•  $280 will
feed Pedro Bello, the Jaguar, who is now at his full sizer.
•  $250 will provide
care for the Ocelot.
The Institute for Bioarchaeology has graciously offered to manage
donations and to ensure that your donations reaches the Orphanage.
No funds will be taken from your donation. Please make your check
or money order out to the Institute, note that it is for the Amazon
Animal Orphanage, and send to:
