Caring for wild animals is extremely expensive — example: I've been caring for a colony of domestic feral cats for the past few years at the cost of about $2,000 per year. If domestics cost that much, imagine what Gudrun and the volunteers are up against! No government funding is granted for their efforts.
They definitely need everyone's assistance.
